Lately it seems we are all obsessing over anything that’s 3D. One of my favorite things about working with paper is layering, because it can be fun to make something that is traditionally flat, become three dimensional. Since this month is about crafting your love, I thought I would use some of the embellishments that we have on Photo Creations to make a little love note.
To make this particular card, I looked through the image gallery for some embellishments that I wanted to mix together. Since I knew I would be cutting out elements and needed a large area, I started my project as an unbound page. I placed all of the embellishments that I liked on my page and ordered a DIY Print (however this can also be done by ordering the pages and have us professionally print them). Once I printed my pages, I used an X-Acto knife to cut the embellishments out and played around with some arrangements. As soon as I had a layout that I liked, I used glue dots to layer the embellishments on top of each other. You can play with the proportions of what you are making by stacking glue dots on top of each other to create more depth between the layers.
Did you know you can do a similar effect directly on our site? Simply layer the embellishments in the builder and add shadows. You can change the blur, angle, distance, and opacity of the shadow to add to a 3D feel.

This is great. I am not creative at all but I think I can do this. I am going to create something that hopefully will make you proud! Thanks Amanda!
Thanks for the creative idea. I love to embellish and creating the layers is a great way to sneak them in. The shadowing really adds depth and that added touch of interest. Thanks for the fun ideas!
