It seems like Christmas was just yesterday but it’s been almost a full month! For me that means time to start planning for my mom’s birthday. I always struggle with what to get her since her birthday is so close to the Christmas, and let’s face it, after the holidays I’m a little short on gift ideas and sanity- so I take any ideas and help I can get. This year I decided to make her a personalized photo calendar and a corresponding gallery wrapped canvas as suggested by my girl, Rocky Rae!

The calendar is perfect because my mom writes in her calendars all the time, not only important events but special notes, funny moments and even adds additional photos later. By the end of the year it never fails that her once simple calendar has turned into yet, another interesting altered art project. I want to help her start this endeavor this year, which is why being able to fully customize a calendar was a necessity. I got photos from relatives, highlighted important dates, and got creative with some layouts. What was I left with? A totally awesome calendar that calendar that leaves room for her personal touches. When finished, I fell in love with a couple of the pages. I decided I needed to showcase one of my masterpieces with gallery wrapped canvas! You can choose to simply re-create the layout by starting a new canvas creation. VIP members can also request to print the page themselves. To complete the piece I added a personal touch with the addition of text on the canvases edge. Each side read with a quote my mom always says about her dog Chloe, Pink is her signature color. Done and done! It was just that simple!
